I spent most of August 15 celebrating my wife’s birthday that I didn’t notice this article.
Jammermania is now part of the Meralco Bolts.
Getting scooped up by the MVP team after spending time on unrestricted free agency, The Master of the Eurostep Dunk could be the missing piece to the Bolts’ championship drive.
I know… this is a farfetched thought. It’s even idiotic from a reader’s perspective. How can a benchwarmer troll his former team that is vying for their second straight championship as well as their third straight PBA Governors’ Cup crown? But hey, the late Cris Bolado is seen as a lucky charm and in the NBA, Steve Kerr is seen as one as well (although his latter championships demonstrated his awesomeness as head coach).
Also, Jamito needs to exploit this opportunity. I know Ael Banal is not getting any playing time in Blackwater and I think Gelo Alolino’s role has diminished in Phoenix but Rashawn McCarthy, Jonathan Grey, and Reden Celda are doing more than the ones selected in the 2016 PBA Draft’s Special Round.
I still think Jamito went mental when he “sacrificed” the 2017 PBA Slam Dunk Contest to appease his teammates. Perhaps Meralco is going to give him redemption. Like I said, I don’t see him getting the playing time with the Bolts but I still see him playing more than what he did with the Kings.
Perhaps there is some semblance of truth in case Meralco finally wins its first title with Jammer on their side.
